Biography

Tipper (real name Dave Tipper) is a British producer and DJ specialising in and .

Although mostly known in the breakbeat scene, Tipper’s output includes strong hints of and amongst other styles. He is known for his interest in extreme bass frequencies, with his releases often including lengthy subbass test tones at the end.

Tipper is also the owner of the loudest car in the world, a 10k sound system in a Dodge Challenger. He, and like-minded people from his label Fuel Records, have engaged in stunts like emptying a swimming pool, covering it with an acoustic canopy and enjoying the bass, or drowning out The Prodigy on the main stage of the V Festival with their car sound systems parked several miles away.

His ambient organic sounds blended with technologically borne beats and noises makes his music extremely psychedelic, this combined with exquisitely timed and cut scratching makes him one of the most complete electronic artists today, creating structures and textures that in some other contexts might be contrary and confusing, but fuse instead into a complex, harmonious and sometimes dark structure that continues to push the envelope of modern composition.
