Biography

Tina Bridgman… the musical life of…

I write this from my little home in the hills nestled in the trees, overlooking mountains and turquoise seas and I am so happy & grateful to be alive.

For as long as I can remember, I have always played music… playing in 20/30 piece orchestras at school, brass bands, choirs and making up the odd tune on the keyboards at home

My “career” as a guitarist started at 13, teaching myself and jamming with friends. I joined my first band, Catch 22, at 17 as a backing vocalist and keyboard player performing in the south-west of UK every weekend for two years. The years that followed saw me playing guitar, songwriting and performing with another songwriter, David Hill.

In 1990 I travelled around Australia and New Zealand, songwriting all the way with my guitar as a constant companion. Here, I had my first busking experience and performed my own material to sit-down audiences.

In 1993, I had my first solo gig at Ronnie Scott’s in London—a famous jazz venue and well-known for showcasing. Following that, I then joined a 13-piece group as one of the main songwriters and playing guitar, percussion and vocals. We performed for the next three years at festivals all over UK and performed live with Billy Bragg on the Acoustic Stage of Glastonbury festival.

Hi everyone...well I've been working out how to work this site out so will hopefully now be able to keep you up to date with my wanderings... Some of the events I have listed but in addition to those, I seem to be doing a lot of spontaneous gigs too! Here in the South West of UK, there are so many little local events/regattas/fetes that I've just been turning up, setting up and away I play. Its been great to meet a whole load of different people outside the festival circuit. I've been playing at The Anchor Inn in Beer, Devon...they have gorgeous gardens overlooking the sea. At weekends they often have a BBQ happening and if the sun is out, its likely that I will be too...so if you're close by...do come. Another favourite venue that I've had the pleasure to play at is The Fountain Head in Branscome, another gorgeous olde pub set in a beautiful village full of thatched cottages and lush colourful gardens... A few ideas are in the mix for September so...stay in touch. Big love x

Hi Tina i was so pleased to be sent an email by suzi campbell telling me about you and directing me to this great site. Love your music and look forward to hearing more. I'm a singer and sound healer recently moved to Nelson. I teach singing privately and in schools and am gradually expanding my sound therapy practise. I work with didgeridoo, native american flutes, tibetan bowls, gongs and voice. Would love to stay in touch with you and hope to hear you play live sometime.
