Also more recently, artists like Babyface, R. Kelly and Missy Elliott have provided a lot of hit songs for other acts as well as themselves.
Now in the last half of the first decade of the 21st century, probably since relatively-unknown songwriter Shaffer Smith, who wrote Mario's biggest hit to date "Let Me Love You," jumped to instant stardom with his own debut album, it seems that every songwriter in the game wants to make his/her name also as a performer.
However, talents for writing (for other singers) and performing are two totally different things and obviously, not every writer-turned-singer of today has got both like Kellz does. In other words, before taking part in the craze, those recent songwriters who try to be under the spotlight should have considered…
