This is great. Talking of other versions - Chris Wood does a very intense version on his 'The Lark Descending' album. That's my favourite.

I love every single version I've listened to! It's just a wonderful, wonderful song.

Re preference for versions of Barleycorn it's a matter of taste. TVE has a great voice and band to match, but I still prefer Stevie Windwood and crew's 1970 version of this song.

I heard Barleycorn on All Songs Considered and searched for the artist for a while. I listened to Traffic's and Martin Carthy's version. Tim Van Eyken's version is so much better.
