Iron Horse is one of his gamelan-like percussion-orchestra pieces, or, as he likes to think of them, "shining" pieces, and can be heard here: Iron Horse. (Closely related are pieces like Sunset Rider, Freedom Strides the SunRoad, and Hammer and Tongs.)
Just Like That is a very early piece for piano, or what in live performance would likely require two pianos, a boisterous work of seeming simplicity, which nonetheless wriggles from the ear's grasp just when it seems pinned down: Just Like That. Orang Lullaby is a good example of my "hinged" pieces, which suddenly reinvent themselves at the middle, and have a second act which, together with the first, explains the title. …
