Like the rugged nature of their NSW homestead, Blue Mountains’ 4-man crew (Tuka, Jeswon, Tommy Fiasko and Dj Morgs)
Thundamentals have forged their style from the peaks and valleys of traditional funk, soul, and Latin-based music. With the ink from their signatures just drying, the latest additions to the Obese Records stable are set to ride the wave of their upcoming self-titled label debut.
Having come together during their formative years, Thundamentals developed their skills from the organic and nurturing Blue Mountains hip-hop scene, finding influence and inspiration from local artists [Hermitude and Down Under Beats Crew.
As individuals, all members have paid their respective dues. Tuka fronts Sydney-based reggae/hip-hop outfit Rumpunch, while Jeswon featured heavily on label-mate Chasm’s classic Beyond The Beat Tape. Tommy Fiasko and DJ Morgs have cut their teeth with their own productions, most notably Fiasko’s remix work for Dr. Octagon and Arrested Development. Together, Thundamentals distinct talents combine to form one of the most exciting young crews to dawn on Australian hip-hop.
While their debut album is still warming, Thundamentals are no strangers to the live scene, having shared the stage with the likes of DJ Qbert, Super Natural, Dj Z-Trip, Jungle Brothers, Swollen Members and DJ MK (Roots Manuva) in their relatively short tenure.
