At the age of 11 Thomas Traspedini begins to show his musical talent and artistic sensibility. He is only 12 when he composes his first pieces for solo flute and solo piano.
The same year he becomes a pupil of Maestro Enzo Caroli, former first flute at Teatro La Fenice in Venice. The internationally renowned master Conrad Klemm, impressed by his skills during an audition, invited him to share his knowledge and experience.
During his career, he takes part in courses, master classes and becomes pupil of many world renowned musicians such as Glaucus Cambursano, Bruno Cavallo, Davide Formisano, first flutes at the “La Scala” Theatre in Milan, Maurizio Simeoli, piccolo at the “La Scala”, Jean-Claude Gerard; Jhon Wion, first flute at the New York City Opera , Vincent Cortvrint, piccolo at the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Francesco Loi, first flute at the “Carlo Felice“ Theatre in Genova, Gabriele Gallotta, former first flutist in the RAI’s Orchestra in Milan, Felix Renggli, flute professor at the conservatory in Freiburg, Vincent Lucas, flute professor at the National Conservatory in Paris, Mario Ancillotti, flute professor at the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland in Lugano, Raffaele Trevisani, flute teacher in the International Academy of Music in Milan, Alberto Negroni, first oboe in the” Maggio Fiorentino“ Orchestra, Luciano Lanfranchi, piano professor at the “Niccolò Paganini” Conservatory in Genova. In 2011 he has taken the prestigious diploma in “Master of Arts in Specialized Music Performance” in Switzerland.
Traspedini is rewarded in several national and international competitions for classical music, including: International Competition “Città di Stresa”, “City of Castiglione delle Stiviere”, “Roero in Musica”, “Dino Caravita”, “Giuseppe Ratto”, “Premio Città di Sestri Ponente”, “International Competition Johannes Brahms”, “International Competition Città di Pietra Ligure”, “International Competition Città di Casarza Ligure”, “International Competition Franz Schubert “, “Syrinx”, “International Competition Francesco Forgione”, “Città di Asti”.
Traspedini has an intense concert activity, which led him in many Italian cities and in several European countries. He has played as solist with the orchestra “Moldova”, the symphony orchestra of the Balkans, the Italian Switzerland Orchestra (OSI) and the Italian Switzerland University Orchestra. He has recorded and played for “Radio 2” in Lugano. He has played as first and second flute in the “Do Norte” orchestra in Portugal, making concerts with Placido Domingo and playing for the Portuguese National Television and Radio.
As eclectic composer he has composed albums for orchestra; chamber groups; flute and piano; solo flute; solo piano; flute, electric guitar and electric bass. He has worked with underground groups and songwriters. He has composed and recorded for “MDivision Group Records” with the “Choirtek” label, for “Cathedral Transmissions” and “Soundiva”.
