“The things that strikes me most is the sheer haunting melancholy of it, it’s like the songs paint a bleak picture, all in grey, of a street with no end.”

“The words flail out despairingly, yet the conviction with which they’re delivered is powerful, obvious and profound.”

ThisDayWeDie débuted in the bleak winter of 2008, after its core members spent months struggling with the inadequacy and failure of their labours, before giving into their loathing and throwing their souls into Regression. Their music explores depths of personal destruction and despair, resulting in a uniquely desolate, macabre sound. The dysphoria with which the music is based around is intensified by the coalescence of apocalyptic atmosphere and dark progressive, and is suffused with haunting vocals, industrial undertones and pounding rhythms.

In 2009, they released their debut album proper, a self-titled work that further explores the genres touched upon in their 2008 demo compliation, Regression.

Post-rock in this band = 0 It's more like Black/Ambient/Drone, which is nice for me.

See this new album of yours? I like it. I like it alot. Took me a while but I like it. It's really sort of, conceptual yet still... music. And the production is fucking amazing on it. Hard shit to pull off and great fucking songs too.

i second this recommendation. spot-on with the electronics. so haunting, so thrilling, yet stays away from fields of noise and pure industrial. Jesu comes to mind, a more blurry and plum jesu perhaps.
