Broken Glass also known as ‘This Broken Glass’ is a Hardcore/Metal solo project formed in 2007 after the demise of the duo Biscuits And Water who evolved from a comedy act to a non-serious Hardcore band during the two years they were active.

This project was originally called Leinad Renraw, the name coming from Dan spelling his first and last names backwards. Leinad Renraw began in an experimental ‘rock sampling’ mindset releasing an E.P ‘The 9 Till 5 Routine at the end of 2007. The songs featured mainly clean vocals and instrument sampling as Dan didn’t play any instruments at the time.

In 2008 Dan had decided to revert back to a more basic underground hardcore sound, more remiscisent to Biscuits And Water’s last album but with more serious lyrics, better quality recording, stronger melodies and more brutal vocals. Dan would also play the guitar from now on rather than using sampling methods. Work began on a full length album (which would be released self titled) mid 2008 but recording was delayed for most of the year due to other commitments including Pop/Punk band Brilliance In A Jar and the short lived reunion of Biscuits And Water. The first few songs were finished at the begining of 2009 and put up on myspace for listeners to hear and as expected the songs sounded very different to anything released from the E.P two years earlier.

On February 2009 Leinad Renraw was re-named to Broken Glass as the vocalist had decided that this name was more suitable and sounded less experimental than Leinad Renraw.
