Northern Ireland (1989 – present)

THERAPY? is an band from Northern Ireland. The band was formed in 1989 by guitarist/vocalist Andy Cairns and drummer Fyfe Ewing. The band initially recorded their first demo with Andy filling in on bass guitar. To complete the line up, the band recruited bassist Michael McKeegan.
With keen pop sensibilities, a skewed sense of humour and a willingness to draw inspiration from diverse sources (notably punk rock) , Therapy? came to attention in the early 1990s rise of alternative rock, but have endured for more than a decade since; Critic Johnny Loftus writes, “After a ten-plus year career that has seen them outlast competitors and outwit industry attempts at categorization, Therapy? are still headbangers with their thinking caps screwed on tight.”

Just can't get into the stuff after Never Apologize, Never Explain. Every album after that has like 2 songs I like but it used to be almost every song. One Cure Fits All is imo their worst album. I don't like any songs from it and all the choruses just repeat the song name.

I'm listening to Shameless atm, They couldn't just regurgitate that same album time and time again, Troublegum is a classic but, the reason Therapy? have lasted so long is probably due to them changing and releasing so many quality albums over the years. I find it hard to pick out a song of theirs I don't like! Going Nowhere I probably the song I listen to the least.

I don't care what other people say about their post-Troublegum-material, to me they are one of the most consistent bands ever and invent themselves new with every album, which is great. Even their weakest album (Shameless) is full of really great songs and their b-sides are better than most other band's a-sides.

The remastered version of Nurse kicks ass! Finally we can enjoy it fully - what dark and twisted songs... I reckon Babyteeth and Pleasure Death deserve remastering, too. Both the albums are absolute undiscovered classics
