  • There's nothing pretentious about the new album, aside the title and pricing. This is populist, funky, sensual music that comes from the gut more than the head. I'm loving the keyboards, the keytar-funk grooves, the unkempt spoken samples, and that cyborg cop looking for drugs. Still debating droping $50 on the 3lp, but with each spin it sounds more worth the price...
  • Pompous album title, grossly inflated price points for both the CD and vinyl editions and tediously long song lengths but beautifully hypnotic sounds all throughout. Pretentiousness never sounded as good as American Intelligence does.
