The Wooden Ships was started by Robert LeRoy in Fraser, Michigan while attending Fraser High School. Basically just a bunch of alternating random people getting together and making lo-fi recordings, the band had a bunch of names including "Airedale", "The Gemini Project", and "Pre-Corporate". The name "The Wooden Ships" comes from the Jefferson Airplane/CSNY song: Wooden Ships.
The current line-up consists of: Robert LeRoy (Guitars/Vocals), Andrew DuBeau (Bass/Vocals) and, Trevor Armstrong (Drums). The band is currently based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The band has also played acoustic shows under the name Dharma For One and has also released lo-fi recordings under that name.
An EP is currently in the process of being recorded and mixed as well as a music video being shot for the song "Amphetamines".
