About this album
The Wonder Years are a six-piece Pop Punk band from Philadelphia, PA and its surrounding suburbs. Synth-fueled and hardcore-influenced, the band has produced four brand new tracks for new and old listeners alike. Wont Be Pathetic Forever is a reaction to a fall and winter spent releasing their debut full length, Get Stoked on It, touring the US and Europe, and coming home to an empty town, left dead in the wake of a new college semester. Lyrically, The Wonder Years still adhere to their own blend of sharp wit and constant allegory, but reflect less on the trials of fictionalized characters and more on those of their own everyday lives.
Musically, the band continues to provide catchy Pop Punk tunes with touches of hardcore structures, but have also infused more layered and fleshed-out song writing, taking influence from bands like Your Favorite Weapon-Era Brand New, Latterman and Living With Lions. To put it simply, Wont Be Pathetic Forever picks up where Get Stoked on It left off, taking the bands humorous song writing to a new level. Recorded at Skylight Studios in Fairless Hills, PA by Vince Ratti (Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer, Valencia, One Dead Three Wounded), with artwork by James Heimer, Wont Be Pathetic Forever shows listeners that The Wonder Years are progressing, but still having a fucking blast! Featuring guest vocals from Rachel Minton (Zolof the Rock and Roll Destroyer).
