    Rael1/Rael2 were essentially precursors to Tommy. Father gets killed in war with a newly born child back home. I thought I read that Townshend wanted to flesh out that idea on The Who Sell Out, but couldn't. And that idea is what he formed Tommy with. I could be completely off on that, as it was a good while back since I read that. Assuming I did read it and didn't make it up..........
