    "Tattoo" is maddeningly catchy.

I usually find myself preferring the Mono version of this album, but it does make good use of Stereo in the Stereo mix. No matter how you listen to it, though, this is a killer album. As good as Who's Next is, it doesn't make my top 3; for me it's Quadrophenia, Tommy and The Who Sell Out.

Definitely one of the band's best records and one of the finest albums of '67.

v Agreed. It sounds fine on a set of speakers but otherwise i prefer the mono mix for headphones

Much as I dig this album, it's one of those many albums from the 60s that thought panning the entire drumkit to one channel was a good idea, but in retrospect it sounds pretty idiotic on headphones.

honestly the deluxe edition of this is terrible, the bass is way too overpowering for a stereo album with the drums pushed to one side, the 1996 remaster is the best sounding cd of this album.
