Toronto, Canada (1998 – present)

Music, videos and information can be had at the Whiners web:

The Whiners is a folk-rock act formed in Toronto, Canada 1998. The Whiners began as a duo then reduced down to a solo act as just Keith McDonald (aka justKEITH, KEITH, Keith Whiner, whinersmusic) in May 2005.

Three new and occasional backing members joined McDonald shortly thereafter in August and December 2005:

David M. Green: vox, lead guitar, songwriter | Jamie Manov: vox, bass, songwriter | Shannon Morton: vox and guitar | Keith McDonald: vox, rhythm guitar, effects, songwriter played together for approximately 5 years before Manov and McDonald formed a definitive version 3 of the band.

In 2009 Manov and McDonald started work on a Whiners disc: Happy Accident. Work continued in 2010 for a March 22, 2011 release. The band decided on digital only track release.

Work began immediately on a second release: Whiners and Losers. Work delayed due to a move to Calgary by Manov in 2012. The album was released on May 15, 2013.

Gigs of note include Toronto performances at The Opera House and Nathan Phillips Square and 7 years of an annual Whiners Variety Night at the Free Times Cafe. The Whiners belong to the Songwriters Unite collective in Toronto. There are no plans to tour the albums until a full Whiners touring band can be readied.
