The Viers have been in existence in several guises for many years now. Originally formed in the late 1990’s when British music was waning and at the time known as tripe, the band was later named prototype. This group consisted of Tim Blackwell, Tom Foy and various other members who have no connection with the band today. Realising that the names were shit and that we couldn’t play our instruments the band became defunct. Over the years Blackwell and Foy continued to make music in the tune factory - aka bedrooms and living rooms. Several unsuccessful attempts to record occurred while drummers and bassists came and went. In 2005, three quarters of the band recorded a few acoustic tracks in sunny Surrey. Those members were, Etchapin, Blackwell and Foy. John was at the time swanning off around East Asia. Finally, Armstrong re-united with the band in 2008 and it only took them a year and half to come up with the name, The Viers. Debut EP finished Feb 2011.
