"does any body remember hearing this at the end of an episode of MAD MEN season 2? " Yes! And you're right, it was the perfect choice--brilliantly so. Gosh, what memories....of my big brother playing his old Silvertone guitar, as he & his buddies tried to figure out all those great Ventures tunes out from their 45's.

does any body remember hearing this at the end of an episode of MAD MEN season 2? It was brilliant, captured the era perfectly. The Space Race, the sense of moving into a new era...etc. Don Draper was seated at a window in a plane heading off to a Rocket Convention in California. The last scene showed his head against the backdrop of the plane window as Telstar began to play. BTW Telstar owned by AT&T was the first satellite to relay TV signals.

Ok, the title says "Telstar" but this is the original theme from "Star Trek!!" Not that there's anything wrong with that...
