Fearlessly honest and unwaveringly persistent, THE UGLY CLUB has been operating for nearly 5 years with such a force that it has become impossible to ignore them (and you would be foolish to do so). Now, with the release of their latest single, “THE LONELY”, the band has transcended the limits of your average rock group and entered an atmospheric, dance pop realm accessible and relatable to just about everyone. With their 2014 summer single, “PASSENGERS” and previous debut album, “YOU BELONG TO THE MINUTES”, The Ugly Club have always been vocally ambitious and teeming with intelligent arrangements not unlike the most progressive artists of our time. Reaching psychedelic highs comparable to MGMT and Radiohead, the delicate inclusion of synth pop, indie-rock, and Prince-esque neo-funk sends listeners into an unanticipated daydream.
Since the humble beginnings of The Ugly Club in small town New Jersey, to building a name on the New York City venue circuit, the band has had high aspirations and an unfaltering vision of their path forward. Two self-produced EPs, one full-length album, as well as single releases, the band has also independently toured throughout the US and Canada playing notable venues and festivals like SXSW, CMJ, NXNE, Kahbang, and more. Their music has received praise from publications like CMJ, MTV, Paste, Huffington Post, Bullett, and countless others.
The musical self-realization and drive behind this mammoth sound has only continued to grow, setting the tempo for the future of The Ugly Club.
