“Sick” was the first official single released for the band’s third album: No One Can Ever Know. It was released in 7” vinyl and digital on November 14, 2011. The song was in the first batch of demos the band wrote for the album. Lead singer James Graham said: “Lyrically, there’s a real flow and story to it […] In my eyes it was the perfect choice for the first single off the new album”.

The official video for the song features an acoustic version filmed in the woods by Adam Stafford, who had previously directed the video for Seven Years of Letters.
