Biography

There are several bands called “The Trio”:

(1) An jazz trio formed by John Surman (saxophone, clarinet), Barre Phillips (bass), Stu Martin (drums), having recorded at least three albums from 1970 til 1987. This unit became one of the busiest and musically vital groups on the European circuit.

(2) The Trio are a sit-down band from Italy. Their most well-known songs include Olmedo Blues, Il Blues della Morte, and several cover numbers like Coco Y Ron and the medley Hit the Road Jack (Godfather, Solo me ne vo).
