Sundown in the Paris of the prairie
Wheat kings have all treasures buried
And all you hear are the rusty breezes
Pushing around the weather vane Jesus

wow. nostalgia. out camping with friends. old cars and pine trees. we were going to be friends forever. almost like a power ballad for the grunge era. i'd say this song definitely connected us for life. i used to die my blonde roots brown and wear plaid lumber jack shirts. yup. wow

Who knew 3 chords could be so great? Not sure how well this song registers with Americans (or non-Canadians for that matter), but it's bloody great.

The Hip have many road trip songs, thats where my appreciation for them began, a road trip to Ottawa last year for Canada Day. Canadian Legends.

So glad I grew up in range of Toronto radio stations and got to hear The Hip early.

I was fooling around with my guitar the other day and just randomly figured out how to play this song. Surprisingly easy.

This song always takes me back to the summer of my 18th year, growing up in Woodstock, NB, driving my old beloved piece of crap Pontiac Sunbird and popping in the Hip's "Fully Completely" album - on cassette, no less - and singing along loud with my friends.
