keyboard player Roger LaVern was on a channel 4 documentary on 25/5/2011 called 24hrs in A&E .. don't worry he was ok he chatted to a doctor about the band timeless :) he is one cool dude bet he has a Joe Meek story or two
No tengo muy claro si The Tornados, y The Tornadoes fueron la misma banda.
scalping party es la juerga padre, me parece demasiado loca y desenfrenada, no me cuadra que se esté hablando de la misma banda.
Such a terrific sound & selection. Being in the band in school, many really got into these famous instrumentals. And with the space race, everyone was looking to the Heavens & wondering what was out there besides God. A great 'baby boomer' walk down memory lane. God bless~!
Brings back some fond memories of the Battle of the Bands. There was a garage band called The Harmonics who played this song with accordions. At one time or another, I think every kid played a few bars if there was a Farfisa organ around.
ha that's kinda funny. Wikipedia says The Tornadoes temporarily changed their name because they were confused with The Tornados. But it also says The Tornados were credited sometimes as The Tornadoes in the U.S. lol that's confusing. Yup, and it's cool finding out that Panda Bear took samples from here and then listening. huh this musical history is interesting
to clarify, the Tornados and the Tornadoes are actually two different 60's instrumental surf groups. Joe Meek's Tornados are from the UK and wrote Telstar. and the Tornadoes, who wrote Bustin' Surfboards, are from Redlands, California. my god, i'm a nerd.
