The Team is a rap group from Oakland, California and Berkeley, California. The group consists of 3 rappers, Clyde Carson, Mayne Mannish and Kaz Kyzah. They are associated with West Coast hip hop music. The Team has a unique sound that showcases the diversity of the ‘hyphy movement’. They first became known for their local hit “It’s Gettin’ Hot” (2004). The Team re-gained popularity in late 2005 after dropping the singles “Just Go” and “Bottles Up” to promote their new album World Premiere. It was released on April 4, 2006 and peaked at number 95 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and number 50 on the Billboard Top Independent Albums. In 2012 they produced another local hit, “Slow Down.”

There are rumors of The Team in talks with major labels such as The Black Wall Street Records and G Unit. Clyde Carson is currently signed to Black Wall Street Records and has recorded a song with The Game and Snoop Dogg called “Lights, Camera, Action”.
