Rapper’s Delight is a 1979 single by American hip hop trio The Sugarhill Gang. While it was not the first hip hop single, “Rapper’s Delight” is generally considered to be the song that first popularized hip hop in the United States and around the world. The song is ranked #248 on the Rolling Stone magazine’s list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
