Begging You (4:53)

Cover of Second Coming

From Second Coming and 13 other releases

This was the last release The Stone Roses put out while they were together, and it didn’t exactly typify their sound. Based around a frantic, pounding drum beat from Reni that was looped over and over, the un-uniform guitar loops and wobbling bass continually pound at you.
One of only two tracks that Squire and Brown co-wrote post 1990 (the other being Ride On), this single was released in a cardboard sleeve, with pictures of the inside of floppy disks painted on the cover. John Squire said that he was being taught how to use a sampler by someone, but it was too much like a science lesson, so he smashed up the disks and made that artwork out of them.
