Steve French was born on the 6th of January 1972 in the great industrial city of Sheffield, England.
He first picked up the guitar at fourteen years of age and had a fascination with blues from fairly early on.
By his twenties he was learning to play like artists such as Freddie King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Albert King.
His first gigging band was a soul band based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire called ‘Touch and Go’ They sacked him but he didn’t mind because one of the sax players was a tosser and was always blowing sharp anyway.

Soon Steve decided it was time to start a band doing what he loved most, Fiery, raw, exciting electric blues.
After going through several name changes the band finally settled as ‘The Steve French Band’
The band’s reputation is awesome amongst those that know of them. As for people who don’t know them, they are blown away when they finally see them play.

The Line up of the band is this:
Steve French: Guitar and vocals
Sheena Savage: Drums and Percussion
Paul Mallatrat: Bass guitar and vocals

If you haven’t seen this band you must hunt them down at a gig. Everyone deserves to see a band this awesome so close up at least once in their lives.
Here’s what some others have said about them:

“Hendrix, Vaughan, power and passion… A Stratocaster Hero in the blues tradition”
…The Star

“Sheffield’s Premier Talented Blues Band”
…The Sheffield Telegraph
