About this album

“50 Trib to the Brothers Gibb” is a unique Bee Gees tribute album by The Somebodys. an eclectic group of producers who came together under the musical direction of John Campbell during his time as former co-manager of ROBIN GIBB of the BEE GEES.

Having worked first hand with the Bee Gees songs for over five years, John wanted to make an album that would cast a completely contemporary slant on these great tracks. He thus collaborated with leading independent artists who had the creative freedom to record these tracks unhindered by established interpretation and with an unashamedly modern approach. Their collective goal was to create a first-of-its-kind tribute by the UK’s black music community to this great band.

John has rejoined forces with Ken Graydon, his former co-manager for Robin Gibb, to present this unique record. Ken worked alongside the Bee Gees for nearly 30 years and has intimate experience of this outstanding catalogue of hits.

The results are stunning. Robin Gibb himself has said “…these are amongst some of the best Bee Gees covers I’ve ever heard…”

The album’s first single, Inside Out, features rising UK soul vocalist Rachael Bell, who has just been nominated in the U.S. as a Female Vocalist of the Year by for its Readers’ Choice Awards. The track was produced by Pete and Steve Lewinson, two of the hottest players on the UK music scene who have performed and recorded with Simply Red, Annie Lennox and Amy Winehouse, among many others.
