04 The Smiths
Probably the album with their most filler.
-Reel Around the Fountain
-This Charming Man
03 Meat Is Murder
This was the first Smiths album I paid attention to but I found it to be a little preachy when I was younger. Now I respect its artistic integrity.
-That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore
-How Soon Is Now?
02 Strangeways, Here We Come
I bet you thought this was going in chronological order, didn't you? I really enjoy this album recently. It's highly polished and perfect but it's just as good as TQID.
-A Rush and a Push and the Land Is Ours
-Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me
-I Won't Share You
01 [album artist]The Queen is Dead[/album]
What a fantastic album. I know it's clichéd but it really is great. The only thing that lets it down is Never Had No One Ever.
-I Know It's Over

I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
With or Without You
31 May 2010, 15:18 by XemperIn April 2008 I made a list of 12 songs that I was enjoying at that moment in time. I called it my Album of the Moment and ever since, this album has been chopped and changed as I grew tired of old songs and discovered new ones. So far, 160 different songs have appeared in my album of the moment, some of which I took the effort to write about, many I haven't. If you browse the journal, I'm sure you'll find some of them.
Below is a list of the first 50 tracks that appeared in my Album of the Moment. It took a surprisingly long time to link up all the songs so its just the first 50 for now but I'll add the rest in a little while (when I can be bothered). Meanwhile all the songs can be viewed on my AOTM playlist:
#001: Vampire Weekend - A-Punk
#002: The Young Knives - Mummy Light The Fire
#003: The Futureheads - Danger of the Water
#004: The Smiths - That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore
#005: The Changes - On A String
#006: Friendly Fires - Paris
6 Sep 2008, 19:52 by coffeymIn this journal I plan to give a list, along with a bit of analysis, of my favourite 10 lyrics taken from songs by The Smiths or Morrissey. Undoubtedly, the lyrics found in Morrissey's solo efforts are somewhat different to those found in The Smiths material: it seems to me that Morrissey spent his 20s and career in the band identifying the problems he experienced in life, whether they be social, sexual, or within his own head in terms of self-hatred or lacking self-confidence. In almost every Smiths song ever recorded Morrissey points out why life, in his view, is boring, bland and full of (mental) suffering, pointing to examples in his own life and basically posing the question "What can you say to this? This is what I see, this is what I feel: you cannot make it any better". On the other hand, Morrissey's solo work reflects his life experience. Rather than simply list examples of his depression and his justification for it, he projects anger on its causes…
23 Aug 2008, 16:53 by Poisoned_Apathy1. How did you get into 29? Frou Frou
Funny enough, through Last.fm. I was listening to My Recommendations radio and Let Go popped up. I loved it and I downloaded the full album.
2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22? Muse
New Born. I remember I watched the video on tv and it blew me away. It's such a powerful song.
3. What’s your favorite lyric by 33? Morrissey
That's hard!! XDD Well, as a solo artist I think my favourite lyric has to be The World Is Full Of Crashing Bores.
I even wrote a journal here with that lyric.XDDD
4. What is your favorite album by 49? Enya
Well, the fact Enya is so high on my charts in beacuse I become obssessed with the song Caribbean Blue a few months ago, and I just played it over and over again. But, I actually enjoy her music from time to time, so would say that
Watermark is probably the one I like the most.
5. How many albums by 13 do you own? Placebo
All of them!! Including special editions and stuff. …
7 Apr 2008, 02:09 by XemperI don't believe in definitive favourites. Making a list of your all time favourite songs means neglecting any new music that may happen to come along. My favourite tracks change over time. Sure, some have longer staying power than others but none of them are set in stone. This is why I have an 'Album Of The Moment'. A set of twelve or so songs that are currently favourites of mine. This list is constantly changing as I discover new music or find hidden gems in music I already own and as I grow bored or annoyed of songs already in the list. Below are the tracks that currently make up my 'Album Of The Moment'.
A-Punk - Vampire Weekend - 2:17
I first came across Vampire Weekend when the song One (Blake's Got a New Face) was given away free as iTunes Single Of The Week at the end of January. I wasn't really that impressed with it and it seemed that not many others were either giving the song an average rating of just 2.5/5. However I then came across the video for this song whilst browsing youtube. …
