My fave album. I like the production; suited the mood of the songs.

This album is plain brilliant and I don't even mind the production. At times I even prefer this mix to the one on "Hatful...". The guitars in say "What Difference..." and "This Charming Man" are given more space to shine here than on the John Peel-sessions, something I prefer. The songs are excellent and I'm having a hard time choosing which half of the album I prefer to the other half.

I don't know why more people don't like this album as much as meat is murder or the queen is dead or Strangeways, Here We Come i actually am actually/should like this album more than the others because this is the first smiths record ever recorded in 184 .. without this record there would be no smiths and no one would ever know who the smiths were.

For a long time I couldn't decide whether I liked the production or whether I thought it was holding the songs back, but there's almost a feel like it was recorded in a garage. It's now my favourite Smiths album.
