• This is the "best sounding" Smiths compilation. The Rough Trade issued vinyls and cds, in particular. Love listening to this with headphones on. d - - b
• the bass sounds so great on this album [2] - Bass is what makes this album shine.
• My favourite album by The Smiths.
• Why do I always see bloody Russell Crowe when I look at the cover? Please...
• the best non-best-of Smiths compilation record. (Louder Than Bombs is too heavy on their slightly patchier (IMO) later material, World Won't Listen is basically Louder Than Bombs anyway). The Peel versions of This Charming Man and Reel Around The Fountain are sublime.
• Clásico!
• My 2nd purchase... still going strong after all these years!
• the album that help me in beginnning love smiths
• Best Smiths realease, EVER.
• On a trip to Cape Cod, I went browsing through a record store and found this CD. Previously, I had never heard of The Smiths. I like the album cover, so I brought it home and gave it a listen. My life was never the same after that....
• the bass sounds so great on this album
• Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want... [2] I just love this song
• Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want...
• 15 minutes with you
• Does the body control the mind or does the mind control the body? I don't know.
• Great record, love the Hatful versions of Still ill & This charming man
• great yeah... love it x) especially "still ill"

• Not better than Louder Than Bombs. [4]
• Not better than any other release..
• Ask me why and I'll spit in your eye!!!!
• Viva Los Smiths!!!!
• better than Louder Than Bombs.
• i looove hand in glove
• This was first Smiths album after a friend told me The Very Best Of... would not do them justice, how right he was! The Queen Is Dead is my favourite Smiths album but I'm very fond of this one for introducing me to my future favourite band.
• I prefer this to any of their albums. [4] It's not that the albums are anything less than brilliant, though.
• worth getting for that version of back to the old house which is spine tingling.
• Not better than Louder Than Bombs. [3]
• An interesting blog at http://drawmorrissey.blogspot.com (morrissey drawings etc.)
• best smiths album if u have only heard one or two songs or never heard before. :D
• i pprefer this to any of their albums (2)
• i perfer this to any of their albums
• heaven knows I'm miserable now...great!
• this was my first Smiths album :D
• welll good
• This is awesome.
• the best
• 'let me get my hands on your mammory glands' God, what a brilliantly funny lyric.
• ssjknux said: Brilliant. Noobie question though, why do a lot of the songs on this compilation (ie What Difference Does It Make) have a more stripped down production than the version on their debut? OsteRock: Because they are the Peel Session versions.
• Still one of the the best and most original albums. Sounds as fresh today as it did the first time around...ahh pleasant memories.......
• I think the Peel sessions sound much better than the original, with the exception of TCM. Back to the Old House sounds 300% better.
• Underrated? The least popular song on it, Accept Yourself, boasts 10,224 listeners (7,7%) right now! Without a doubt, this album is a full-on classic!
• Marvellous, yet underrated compilation of early Smiths Peel Sessions, demos and B-sides.
