It's definitely a logic failure, but the failure is that any original is automatically greater than any subsequent version. By this logic, once music is traced backwards in time far enough, the greatest and only original "song" is Adam motorboating Eve with a 'brrrrumsky' thrown in. Actually, he may be onto something here.

When Hendrix covered All Along the Watchtower, Dylan basically gave him the song and said his cover was brilliant and totally killed the "original". All of this being said I think the original is better, but love this version (it actually introduced me to the song).

Bob Dylan would not cover Bieber. I love both versions, though I'm more inclined to this version just because I love SP more.

I think it's funny when people say a cover is better than an original. Did the cover artist write the original? No? Then it's not better than the original plain and simple. [2] ==> That's a really stupid opinion. Do you really think that if, for example, Bob Dylan decided to cover Justin Bieber, Bieber's original would still be better ?

Is'nt there a special kind of magic in this song? Nof even the worst brass band would be able to destroy it. I'm looking foward to every cover version I can get. It really touches my heart.

I think it's funny when people say a cover is better than an original. Did the cover artist write the original? No? Then it's not better than the original plain and simple. That being said, it doesn't mean you can't prefer one to another. I happen to be a huge fan of this cover, and sometimes I'd prefer listening to it to the original. That's the beauty in music, you can like whatever you want to as long as it makes sense to you.

Also, this cover made me notice the song uses the same Travis-picking thing that was in The Beatles' Dear Prudence/Julia/Octopus' Garden and Pink Floyd's Brain Damage.

Good guitar work, but... people seriously think Billy does a good job with vocals here?! Well, no, I don't think so. As usual, I'd say he should've handed vocal duties to D'arcy or James. Probably D'arcy would've fit best.
