yeah, the riot grrrl movement started out in the late eighties, right? and yes, this is dub punk! :D

one of my few consistently favourite bands. Whoever tagged them riot grrrl is a plonker, it's 'girly-reggae-punk'!

You are such a terrific art punk grrrl band, and still sound great. Were'nt you in the New Age Steppers also? I had all your records in the 70s

The drummer on the Slits reunion tour was smokin!!! Much better than the drummers I've heard on other early 2000's Ari Up shows. That makes all the difference...

@ Ghost Train: I really enjoyed their reunion tour. They don't sound much different now from when they recorded the songs found on Y 3 LP.

question : is the reunion tour good? i'd LOVE to see them, but i don't want to see a band made of tired women who make shitty versions of their awesome songs. someone?

Did anyone see Ari Up on Spicks & Specks ? She was definately a bit more than weird. Don't think I would like this band.. And what's with the orange ?

In My Opinion, Palmolive may have written it when she was a member of The Slits, then left The Slits to The Raincoats. And, even if the Slits kept playing adventures close to home, she decided to play it with her own band. or maybe not. great song anyway.

(both are EXCELLENT, by the way)

So, um, who wrote adventures close to home -- The Raincoats or The Slits? Both albums came out in 1979 and none of the entries I've found on either album gives credit to the other band. I'm confused.
