(1985 – 1986)
The Sisterhood was a short-lived English musical project, consisting of Andrew Eldritch (writer and producer), drum machine “Doktor Avalanche” / “Chorus of Vengeance” of Lucas Fox (drums), Patricia Morrison (bass and vocals), James Ray (guitar and vocals) and Alan Vega (synthesizer and vocals). Eldritch does not sing lead vocals on the record officially, though does sing Colours & Giving Ground unofficially. The band was formed by Eldritch after the 1985 breakup of his band The Sisters of Mercy.
There had supposedly been an agreement among Eldritch and the ones leaving the band that Eldritch would retain the rights to the songs and the names, while the ex-Sisters would play their old songs under the name of Sisterhood. Eldritch would not accept this close a name, especially with them breaking the agreement by playing songs they weren’t allowed to. Quickly, he formed The Sisterhood to force the old band members out of the game. In the 1986 the project ended its existance.
Side Note: There is a Track listed and Played frequently on this page that is Drum N Bass music and is not performed/recorded by the above described band (Not my description I am merely editing to add this note.) I used to wonder about that too...I mean about A.Aldritch being into guys. My faith was restored after I studied the band's breakup in '85. Did you know there is a blog rumor in cyberspace that Mission founder Hussey got with a Cult member. After studying the Sister's split I really listened to "Floodland" and I could hear the dripping sarcasm, especially in songs like Torch. "Would you carry the torch for me?" He was totally making fun of Hussey, who wrote it! Andrew's the man! Any comments?

Well... personally I'd be a bit pissed if ex-members of my band were essentially trying to make it sounds as though they were somehow still affiliated with the band. Not to mention the fact the Sisters of Mercy fanclub was named "The Sisterhood" anyway (correct me if I'm wrong)
