August 3rd 2008: The debut album ‘The Missing’ was released. Featuring 10 songs recorded at the artists house. It was released briefly on CD and then later on in MP3 format before various issues caused it to become unavailable in early 2009. February 2009: A new track arrives as a free download on The Silent Committee blog. The track, entitled ‘Regime’, is a short but energetic combination of noise and edgy electronic drums. The track is expected to be included on a forthcoming EP or album release but no hints were given as to indicate this on its release.
May 4th 2009: The single ‘Regret; was relased along with its b-side ‘Blue’. The single was released as a free download through netlabel BFW Recordings (http://www.bfwrecordings.com). June 26th 2010: The Silent Committee makes its debut live performance at the Fishmarket Art Gallery in Northampton. The show was performed solo by Chris Fordham using an array of effects pedals, guitar, piano, drum machines and live looping to recreate several songs from the back catalogue. July 21st: A multitrack part of another new song is unveiled to facebook fans, along with a message suggesting that the new album recording is already well underway.
July 23rd: Chris is interviewed by BBC Radio Northampton about his music as both a singer/songwriter and as The Silent Committee. the album ‘Staring At The Sea’ is talked about in some depth.
August 1st 2010: The 2nd live performance takes place at an outdoor poetry festival in Delepre Abbey Gardens, Northampton. This is expected to be the last solo performace of the works for the time being as the live side of things is being reworked for a group of performers and a more visual experience is being produced with LWL Productions.
August 4th 2010: Work begins on soundtracking a new 8minute film by Nigel Fordham. The song is described in Chris’s blog as ‘very minimal’ and with ‘absolutely no guitars’. The film is expected to be on the internet by Autumn 2010.
August 6th 2010: It is announced on the facebook fan page that The Silent Committee has been approached to provide an original and exclusive song for a new compilation album project based around the theme of the 7 deadly sins.
