NorCal meets SoCal; shredding Japanese technique. Out of the ashes of Dosage and Usage (dance-punk bands) Dmonstrations arises. Resting between punk and avant-garde, the band wastes little time in getting their point across. The dance-punk sounds of earlier years have been left behind for a full on sonic assault.
Two guitarists and one drummer making music where every note sounds like a painful struggle. Every drum fill, next to impossible. It almost seems like the members of Kid Commando are in constant battle with the instruments they play. Their art damaged sandpaper rhythms cut jagged grooves into normalcy.
San Francisco noise metal dive bomber jazz aggressors Total Shutdown is a 5 piece bass guitar keyboard sax drummer screecher band that flails about, stopping, starting, with their minute-long, tantrum-like songs. Short attention spans combined with powerful amps, sax bleeps, and frothy mouthed freshness.
San Francisco-based rock band So So Many White White Tigers play bad-energy, propulsive, off-timed noise skree with lots of ballsy guitar moves and dysfunctional shrieks and squeals from Liza that are sure to sting and cause infection. Gerald lays waste to the drums and guitarist Ned positively shreds the strings.

Although Replikants includes two members from the United States trio Unwound -- guitarist Justin Trosper and original drummer Brandt Sandeno -- the two bands' sounds could hardly be less similar. Instead of Unwound's fierce, crunchy rock music, this is very murky breakbeat that uses a live drummer and what sounds like an analogue keyboard.

Fourteen tracks in about twenty-two minutes, crashing headlong into blazing low-fi Bad Brains-style punk, all sloppy and mixed till you can almost hear the needles on the mixing board plowing into the red. Then, before you know it, a kitschy Shonen Knife rap part comes in, leavened with a big metal guitar, and then onto a dub number without so much as time to breathe.
