We Cry (3:43)
From We Cry and 17 other releases
The population of Ireland is a smidge over 4 million, yet over the years this tiny country referred to as Gods Emerald Isle has produced a diversity, quality and quantity of musical talent that most record executives dream of.
Perhaps it is the influence of those sweeping rolling green hills, the beautiful rugged coastline of Cork, Kerry and Connemara to name but a few; or the hospitality the genuine warmth and friendship, the world class cuisine … , not forgetting the odd pint or three of the amber nectar (Guinness) that has helped proliferate the amazing breadth and depth of the world class music that has come forth from these Isles and conquered.
“We Cry” the Trio’s first single is a life observation, somber, yet full of hope for all; charting in the UK at No 13 in 2008. The Trio consists of Danny O’Donaghue, Mark Sheehan and Glen Power.”There is not a lot of hope in the song, cause not everybody’s life is full of hope,” says Danny. “There’s not always roses at the end. But out of all these things that have gone wrong in our lives and everybody else’s lives, the message is ‘together we cry’. Because as long as we’re here together then we can find a way to share the burden.”
Poignant U2 esq, but only in thought not in style, “We Cry” was followed by “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved;” the 2ns Single Charted at No 3 in the UK and Ireland respectively followed by the Album “The Script” in July 2008 so far topping the Charts in the all important UK Market, the No. 1’s followed in Ireland.
