They play ‘sci-fi’, a slick, retro-feeling synthesis of synth rock, dance punk, and power pop. The R5 blend guitar-driven rock, Nintendo Gameboys, and hook-filled dance music with a nostalgic sense of pop. Influenced by The Talking Heads, The Cars, and 8-bit battle music, The Runaway Five’s debut EP ‘Raygunomics’ is out.
