Biography
The Runaway Bears are an alternative rock band based in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. The band is composed of Nathan ‘Brick’ Smith (vocals, guitar), Alan Alexander (bass, backing vocals) and Jack Stewart (drums, backing vocals).
The Runaway Bears recently completed their first EP entitled Who’s Been Sleeping In My Bed?. It was produced by Mike Mormecha of Mojofury and Clownparlour fame.
The band was started when Al introduced former bandmate Jack to his his childhood friend Brick . Jack and Al had a history as half of Titanicus while Brick and Al had been jamming and writing together for years.
Not afraid to take risks musically, the boys just make it the way they want to make it. Influenced ‘by any musician who loves what they do’, The Runaway Bears don’t seem to care how their music may sound to anyone else as long as it sounds good to them. Heavy yet delicate in approach; technically complex but sounding simple - their densely layered songs combine three traditional rock elements of guitar, bass and drums with something else entirely. And it works.
Currently supporting Mojofury at various gigs, The Runaway Bears may be spotted in your town soon…
