    the term "post-punk" was coined as a description for the raincoats originally...making them the first band defined as post-punk.....I can barely stand their singers voice tho or the annoying violins they always feel the need to strewn throughout their songs...and their lyrics don't strike me either. guess im not a fan lol

    There is in everything with The Raincoats. John Peel said of Beefheart that "I heard echoes of his music in some of the records I listened to last week and I'll hear more echoes in records that I listen to this week." Well, extraordinary innovation is just that, that's all, in my opinion.
