    Here's how it works:

Take eight bands that should play at your show and determine their set lists:
    - The first one plays 5 songs
    - The second one plays 5 songs
    - The third one plays 5 songs
    - The fourth one plays 7 songs
    - The fifth one plays 7 songs
    - The sixth one plays 10 songs
    - The seventh one plays 10 songs
    - The eighth one plays 14 songs, with a 2 song encore

Artists/Band members can be dead or alive. Open with the second best song, then continue down until the final song, which is the best song. For the encores, open with fourth best, continue down until last which is third best, then first song in the encore is second best, last song is best.

  • My Fave Albums Of 09 (Part 2)

    27 Feb 2010, 15:51 by McMartin06

My Fave Albums Of 2009 (Part 2 )

Part 1 continued. In this journal are the top five albums of 2009. Enjoy!

    5. Testament - Low

    http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff70/McMartin06/10695-1.jpg

A thick, groovy, dark riff kicks this album off. Then in come Billy’s booming vocals. This album is a thrash one, but it isn’t dry like a lot of thrash albums are. You know those early ones that are good and all but seem to lack a depth within the guitar sound and production. This doesn’t fall into that trap, sure its thrash, but it contains its fair share of “sludge” within the sound. To me this is what a modern thrash album should be about, an obvious nod to the past of thrash, but also incorporating the thick and heavy sound of some modern metal. The opening of this album is fantastic, setting the tone with some brilliant tracks. Unfortunately the rest of the album doesn’t seem to quite match up to these opening songs but the other tracks are still of a pretty high standard. …

    5. Neon Wasteland (Serpico)
I've been following these guys for a while yet, waiting patiently for the album to follow-up their fantastic EP. Neon Wasteland doesn't disappoint - it's packed full of catchy rock anthems from the popular first single We Own The Night to the live favourite Feeling Minnesota. I was disappointed to learn of the departure of three members of the band, but staying hopeful that their replacements will be just as good.
    Listen To: Godforsaken, Feeling Minnesota

    4. XO (Leathermouth)
The long-awaited debut album from Frank Iero's (My Chemical Romance) side-project - Leathermouth. Those who were expecting something similar to Frank's more well-known projects will be disappointed, but for those of us who wanted something a little heavier, we've got it.
Listen To: Murder Was The Case They Gave Me, Leviathan

    3. Invaders Must Die (The Prodigy)
I was never much of a fan of The Prodigy, but I was convinced by several people to give this album a listen. …
  • Yes, another "best albums of 2009" list - JUST WHAT YOU NEED TO READ!!

    27 Dec 2009, 07:38 by CaptainGaylord

I remember most of the top album lists last year started out with music snob crap like "well it was a pretty lousy year for music, but i guess SOME good things came out." 2008 wasn't a goldmine, but come on - a lot of good stuff came out! Granted, the albums by TV on the Radio, Portishead, Cut Copy, Elbow, and the like were all ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE, but some stuff didn't suck! Like that Coldplay album. Boy oh boy, wasn't THAT a gem!

There's no arguing that this year was abundant with great music. In fact, I wanted to just make a list of 20 or 25, but I just couldn't do it. Even 50 was hard for me! Anyway, without further rambling, here is my top albums list for 2009. I must warn you in advance though that it is quite long, and if you really want to sit and read all about what some random guy on the internet thinks about the year in music when it's such a beautiful day outside, well.. it's your life.

    50. Röyksopp - Junior
  • Do tylu i do przodu

Nawiązując do tematu Kumkowo Olikowego.

Wracając jeszcze do ostatnich zakupów. Invaders Must Die to faktycznie jest wgniatacz.
Hotel Mobiego przesłuchałem do końca i pomyślałem kolejny raz „to całkiem fajna płyta”. Drugą połową dwupaku jest Last Night. Włączyłem i od razu coś drgnęło. …
  • Royksopp...how could you?

    26 Mar 2009, 09:59 by Sefotron

Melody AM was a fantastic album. It mixed sublime, chilled tracks with some lovely singy-songy ones, and was a firm favourite with me for a long, long time. The Understanding was mostly good, with a couple of decidedly terrible tracks thrown into the mix. Junior is...is...horrible.

Actually let me quantify that statement. It's "almost entirely horrible" with a few nice(sih) tracks on it. The opening track "Happy Up Here" for example is actually pretty damn sweet; an Epleesque little thing with blippy-bloppy beats, a nicely mellow harmony, and an overall good vibe to it. Then there are tracks like "Royksopp Forever", which are actually really lovely...but...

But then there are tracks like "Tricky Tricky" which are, to put it bluntly, the WORST kind of euro-shi*e you can imagine. Horrible tunes, terrible vocals (most of the really bad tracks feature a female vocalist who sounds not entirely unlike a small animal being slowly crushed)…

  • oh THANK GOD, another invaders must die review

    14 Mar 2009, 08:07 by CaptainGaylord

like most my age, my introduction toThe Prodigy was The Fat of the Land, and i fell in love. Narayan still is in my top ten dance songs of all time... but anyway that's neither here nor there.

eager, i ate up their earlier shit, of course with the initial "...THE prodigy?? well there most certainly was no definite article on this cd, surely this must be another band..." but it was followed by the amazement i felt when i first listened to Music for the Jilted Generation, it was my true introduction to electronic dance, other than Daft Punk's Homework. Voodoo People absolutely blew my mind. i do have to admit, however, that jilted definitely towers over Experience alongside fat of the land, though it's been a while since i've given it a listen. hell, since i'm listening to new prodigy, i'm sure i'll get around to it soon.

now, i think i may be the only prodigy fan to think this: Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned is great! personally, i think it suffered because it naturally paled in comparison to its predecessors…
