Biography

The Preps are a fast-paced punk rock band hailing from North Eastern Pennsylvania. Since their formation almost 10 years ago, they have played a fair share of high profile shows at such famed clubs as CBGB’s, The Black Cat, The Continental, Hard Rock Café, and The Electric Factory. With tours on both the East and West Coast, they have shared the stage with such acts as The Bouncing Souls, Flogging Molly, Bowling for Soup, Bad Religion, Yellowcard, Dillinger Escape Plan, Beerzone, The Vibrators, The Queers, The Casualties, Catch 22, Buck O Nine, and Less Than Jake just to name a few.

During that 10-year period Fat Lou founded his record label known as Fool Records. The Preps then recorded a slue of albums and appeared on numerous compilations under the Fool Records label. In 1997 they recorded the never released “MIA album” then in 1999 they recorded their first full-length album entitled “Hot Coffee, Cold Shoulders”. After a short hiatus The Preps were back strong in 2001 with their new album “The Imposters Strike Back”, soon followed by a live album “The Drinking EP”, which featured some of their old material, and is dedicated to their favorite pastime. Through the years The Preps have been featured on many compilations such as: “What’d You Expect for Free; Vol. XIII”, “Lehigh Valley: Punk Rock Rally”, The Salvation Theory; Vol. 1”, “35 Miles to Nowhere Vol. 1, “You’d be a Fool Not To: Vol. 1”, and Turkey Vulture Records: The Harder, The Better: Vol. 10.

The last two years proved to be very productive for The Preps. They released their sixth album entitled “A New Beginning” which is currently available throughout the US and Europe. They toured across the country, with dates on the Vans Warped tour and at CBGB’s. Currently, the group is going strong preparing for another appearance on this year’s Vans Warped tour, which will also be taped and aired as a summer special on Fox 5 Television’s The Underground TV. The Preps have also been interviewed for various newspapers along with several reviews of their live shows and recently was offered a sponsorship from Pabst Blue Ribbon, and Global Apathy Brand Clothing. The Preps have coined the phase, “We Are Hear To Rock!” and anyone who has seen their live show knows that is exactly what they do.
