If by supergroup you mean a band of formerly established musicians with previous independent fame ala The Traveling Wilburys, then no. But they're a super group!

My favorite 80s' super-group. I've dug their music for a very long time. I recommend a listen to all their albums as they're all pretty good. The 'Message in a Box' set is worth seeking out if you want all their studio albums plus some extras like demos and some live stuff. If you are a Hi-Fi enthusiast like myself I recommend the original album issues on CD back in the eighties, but I own all of the 2003 remasters and those sound good too- so you can't loose buying any releases as they all sound terrific. I'm a fan of some of Sting's material too. It's also worth checking out Stewart Copland's work for film, like his music for Highlander 2 if you are into subdued orchestral music.
