Biography

Formed in June 1988 by Nick Langley (bass & vocals) and Alison Hughes (acoustic guitar & vocals), they travelled the length and breadth of the country pedalling their Indie pop tunes to the good and the great. Joined on the journey by Hugh Whitaker (drums & vocals) and Steve Parry (electric guitar), they released 2 demo tapes “Sunny Enough For Cats” and “Sunny Enough For Cats Too” as well as a 12” single “Taj Mahal” in 1989. Nick left the band in August 1990 (Hugh and Steve had already left and been replaced by this point) and the band eventually split up in March 1991. Personally speaking, I thoroughly enjoyed myself! Nick Langley (March 2011).

Bloody hell! "Wossname". I'd completely forgotten about that. What's on it?

So, my tape says nothing about cats on it, but appears to be called 'Wossname', dated 1989. Was that a different demo tape? I have the Taj Mahal 12" too...

I remember the Penny Candles I have a tape carefully preserved which I bought the night they played Ripon and York St.John's college in York . Oh happy days of cheap booze and a laugh.

Hi, good to see you still exist, even if not as a band.
