I'd like to think of myself as a part of an actual part of the last.fm community over a partlotones fan that just created a last.fm account to write good stuff on their wall. I don't necessarily find pleasure in "tearing others apart," but offering my opinion on their music. I saw them perform and thought they put in a great live performance. I then purchased "Stardust Galaxies" (with money, as opposed to downloading it). I went home and listened to the album and followed along with the CD's booklet lyrics and was disappointed at how shallow some of the song's lyrics were. They're a great live band, but I don't think their song writing skills are up to par to the other bands I listen to. "If you play with fire/ you're gonna get burned." Seriously? I don't need cliches in my songs. With that being said, I guess I'm the loser to be ten bucks poorer...and what do I really know? It's not like I'm in a real band :-P
When I saw that the Parlotones were opening for Blue October I decided to check them out before the shows. Listened on grooveshark & loved what I heard so I bought everything iTunes had to offer. I was curious how they would be live, & I was blown away. Amazing, so much energy onstage! I've seen them play 3 times now, and can't wait to see them again. They are super sweet guys & have quickly became one of my favorite bands. What's not to love?
All these negative comments are interesting to me. I'm curious what music and lyrics you consider "good". Or if you just feel better about yourself by tearing others apart.
@Entwined1000 so because people haven't clicked on the music above their comment is fake? Couldn't be that they own all the music so they didn't give them a listen on here, could it? So silly. Looking through the posts I know several of these people. They are true fans of the band & just showing their support. I'll go click on songs now so my comment isn't "fishy"
ok i am sorry but most of the comments below are fake!! Oh i am smitten oh they changed my life, when you click on the people they havent even listened to a single song......somethings fishy...otherwise good band
I am Completely Smitten with The Parlotones! I saw them Last Summer When they opened for Blue October And I have been hooked since! I just saw them when they came back to Portland and I was lucky enough to meet them after the show they were so Beautiful and Sweet! I can't wait to see them again!
LOVE The Parlotones!! I had the pleasure of seeing them for the first time when they opened for Blue October and fell in love. Push Me To The Floor, Baby Be Mine, and Remember When, are three of my most favorite songs of theirs. I'm constantly amazed at their talent and energy, they are all very talented musicians. Not to mention they are some of the nicest guys too. I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to meet them, and see them in concert multiple times. I can't wait to see them again!
I was having an incredibly long hard emotionally difficult day last year (a memorial for my son and others). Then I headed to the Bue October concert in San Francisco. Wasn't very focused until this band came out on stage. OMG! Totally changed my whole evening! The energy, the songs, this band made me smile, laugh and enjoy being alive! Seriously! It was such a down day and then The Parlotones dropped in! Awesome! I had bought the SG cd before they even took the stage - lucky me! Then I got home and downloaded their previous 2 cds! I can't help but listen to them - always bring me up! I am SO looking forward to seeing them again next week!
