Learn more about scrobbling

With songs about borrowing money off your mates for the next beer, getting in fights over girls and the American-led obsession with ‘celebrity’, Colchester band The Overwrought will take on any subject.

Inspired by Manic Street Preachers, The Specials, Elvis Costello, Nirvana, Tom Petty and The Libertines, the group play songs about life in the 21st century for anyone who feels ignored by the mainstream.

Formed in Colchester earlier this year, the group feature Owen Bennett on guitar and vocals, Dom Stevenson on guitar, Joshua Greenley on bass and David Seddon on drums.

The sound of the group is based around 70s punk, 80s New Wave, 90s Britpop and 00s indie, and lyrics which veer from kitchen-sink dramas to articulated frustration at the current world order.
