“For You” is a song by British band The Outfield. Like many of the group’s best known songs, it is a about a lost love. It was released in 1990 as the first and only single from the band’s 1991 album ‘Diamond Days’.

“For You” was highly successful in the American charts. It hit #21 in the ‘Adult Contemporary’ chart, #13 in the ‘Mainstream Rock’ chart, and #21 in the ‘Billboard Hot 100’. It was later included in the 1996 greatest hits album ‘Big Innings: The Best of the Outfield’.

    This is my favorite song by the Outfield, and I agree with you brody about its popularity overall, but it may come down to regional differences too. I worked at 2 small market pop stations when this song came out. It was quite popular in Illinois, but I never heard it where I worked in New Hampshire. Over the years, I've noticed differences in what songs go into heavy rotation in some cities, but not so much elsewhere.
