The tension of the strings in the background is incredible. I wish more of there stuff was like this.

This beautiful song reminds me of Asleep by The Smiths. Just a tad bit though, since it evokes a similar feeling in me.

The vocals are sex and the lyrics are powerful, but what really makes me hit the repeat button is that piano. It's heavenly.

This song is amazing in its own right, made for a video game or not. Nothing against Portal (never played it myself but it does intrigue me). This is just pure hands-down fantastic. <3

Chestbumping because you heard a song before some other people did is one of the most sad and pathetic things I can think of. Congratulations. You pretentious children and your stupid hipster bollocks. Reading your posts almost made me ashamed I've been a "The National" fan since "Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers". To everyone else in this shoutbox, I apologize on the behalf of those morons.

Nah, you guys hate that this song is associated to Portal BECAUSE ITS TOO MAINSTREAM. There, i made a lame hipster joke.

Very excited for their new album. Hopefully they put this on it, or at least on a deluxe edition. Rylan is incredible too. I wish this wasn't associated with Portal though.

I agree that it's kind of a shame this song was created for a video game, even one as good as Portal 2. I'm glad I listened to the song before I found it in and associated it with the game. It's just far too beautiful to be that song from that one game. One of the National's best.
