So very, very bad cover. I hate it. I love some of the songs in the album. But damn, that cover... it's ugly. One of the worst I've seen.

Just getting into it. So far, the album for me is really, very consistantly, "Hmm... not bad."

I love The National and all, and I realize that everything has to have a beginning. That said, while this album does have its high points, its lows are really low. Really low. The amount of evolution their sound underwent between here and Sad Songs is astounding. The evolution between this album and Alligator, Boxer, or High Violet; it's a bit hard to believe the band even has any of the same people in it.
