    I'm not sure why bands attempt to cover hendrix, but I think hendrix stuff should stay with Hendrix...Only one Jimi....best kept that way !!

    Jimi Hendrix made it his own in 1966 but it had been performed a year earlier by L.A. garage band, The Leaves. how do you like that

    you wouldn't believe how many artists did a cover of "Hey Joe". This is one of the best- Johnny Rivers did a good one, too. Hendrix owns it, though....
